Step 6 of 6 - Your guide to get started with Vintage & Second Hand

Time for reflection

Congratulations! You have found at least one vintage or second hand gem to add to your wardrobe and many future looks. Now it is time to challenge yourself to become a real vintage wearer:

  1. Wear one of your new vintage items in three different ways in one week Think about how it feels and if you are happy with the look/s.

  2. Did you get something that doesn't feel 100% right for you? Do one of the following things:

    1. Modify it to suit you (do it yourself or take it to the tailor)

    2. Give it to a friend or donate it to a charity shop, it's no big deal

    3. Pay another visit to your favorite vintage or second hand store once you feel ready to replace it

  3. If you started off easy with adding an accessory, step it up Go for a more substantial piece next time. Why not add a classic camel coat or a knitted jumper to your wardrobe next? Find an item that suits your style.

  4. Share what you wear on instagram There are tons of vintage and second hand related hashtags. Explore them and have fun getting inspired and inspiring others to expand their vintage wardrobes.

This is the final lesson in this introduction to vintage and second hand shopping. I sincerely hope you've enjoyed the journey and got some value and inspiration from this guide. If you did, please share this guide with a friend! 😊

Also, remember to take good care of your garments. Wear them, love them, and if the love story ends, give them to someone who will appreciate them like you once did.
