What is Deadstock?

According to Wikipedia, "Deadstock" refers to merchandise withdrawn from sale and warehoused without ever having being sold to a customer due to the item no longer being in fashion or otherwise outdated.

This type of merchandise often become fashionable at a much later point and return to the market. Deadstock clothing and accessories older than 20 years are considered vintage even if they have never been used.

Repurposing deadstock items when creating new products is a way to improve sustainability in the fashion industry.
